Quick and accurate blood pressure readings¹

The DINAMAP SuperSTAT NIBP algorithm enhances patient comfort and measurement performance even under challenging clinical conditions

Healthcare providers today face an ever-changing and increasingly challenging environment. What has not changed is the importance of obtaining quick and reliable patient data from which to make critical decisions.

This paper outlines how the DINAMAP^TM SuperSTAT advanced noninvasive blood pressure (NIBP) algorithm from GE Healthcare can make measurement quick and comfortable while maintaining high accuracy. It can be found in the CARESCAPE^TM Patient Data Module. Here are the highlights:

The SuperSTAT algorithm uses advanced signal processing and “smart cuff” pressure control to provide accurate determinations in fewer steps and in the shortest possible time.
For babies in the NICU with low blood pressures, the SuperSTAT algorithm can be set at a lower cuff inflation pressure, making the procedure more comfortable.
In adult and pediatric patients, the algorithm can obtain reliable blood pressure readings despite irregular cardiac rhythms.
The algorithm can obtain accurate NIBP readings in spite of motion artifacts, such as in post-anesthesia patients and neonates.
The SuperSTAT algorithm has a wide performance range, so that it can maintain accuracy in higher-acuity patients with high variability in vital signs, including patients with low perfusion pressures and premature infants.
The accuracy of the SuperSTAT NIBP algorithm was validated in adult, pediatric, and neonatal subjects according to a national standard (ANSI/AAMI SP 10, 1992).
